While your front porch is filled with all of your packages you ordered weeks ago, stores like Walmart and Target are skyrocketing in business.

The pandemic has taken a toll on a lot of people. Restricting everyone from their old favorable locations and people for the sake of our safety and others. But that definitely did not stop the millions of people from shopping these past few months. It’s no surprise that Walmart and Target are the two most go-to retail stores in local towns all over America. According to an analysis of Google search data, Walmart had surpassed Target in sales over the past year.

Walmart (Blue) making double in sales than Target (Red) throughout 2020

Walmart has been making an incredible amount of game sales recently, especially during the weeks in November throughout December of 2020. Both famous consoles like the new PS5 and the new Xbox Series X were both sold out in a short amount of time and Walmart was the place to get your hands on one.

It’s been said that many people on social media platforms always made sure that their preference was Target since it brought much more of a higher “social class taste” when shopping there than Walmart. Even so, at this rate Walmart will be our reliable and in-expensive store to go to for now while Target can’t even get close to their success in sales.

While Coronavirus cases drop after dramatic increase earlier this month, vaccines has been making people worry after ‘questionable’ results from others.

The Coronavirus has been around for almost a year now and aid is finally coming our way, but not everyone is thrilled about what it may do to our lives. Many cases were up to their highest due to those who refused to follow CDC (Center of Disease Control and Prevention) regulations which made most things difficult. And just when we all waited for a solution to finally come, people started believing that the COVID-19 vaccine is far too dangerous than the virus itself that’s been around for months.

COVID-19 (Blue) searches decreased as COVID-19 Vaccines searches (Red) increase during January of 2021

According to an analysis of Google search data, people have googled more about the vaccine than the virus during this whole month of January 2021. This was in result of what many have heard about the few who took the vaccine after it started being distributed to the public (healthcare providers first). Many were also shocked when they found out that we would have to take a second dosage a few days after the first.

Pretty soon, pharmacies and local stores will have access to the vaccines and people in their local counties will have to register to get their first dosage at some point later this year. But with limited supply for those who work and are involved with the healthcare department, we all have to be patient and be considerate how the whole process is laid out.
